Vulnerability asks you to honestly and openly look at yourself. What am I doing wrong? Why am I doing something? Am I harming myself or others with my actions and words? Only if you are open and allow potentially unwanted answers to arise, you can come closer to the truth. And only the truth will allow you to grow through a situation.
Also in your relationships: showing others your true self will allow them to respond in a similar manner, creating intimacy and trust. If I tend to shield myself away, I am merely a hollow cast interacting with my next ones. Of course, being vulnerable needs to come with a specific set of other values as well id eat having good intentions, being kind with each others, being accepting and much more. However, if given, the quality and depth of your relationship will only grow.
